A Donegal County Councillor has praised the decision to fly the Starry Plough flag on council buildings to commemorate the role of the Irish Citizens Army in 1916.
The flag will fly for the rest of this year alongside the Tricolour and the Irish Republic flag.
Councillor Micheal Cholm Mac Giolla Easbuig put forward the motion, he believes the role the ICA played in 1916 has been overshadowed and this move will ensure they too will be remembered and is hopeful it will spark some interest amoung the public:
