Philip Deignan to ride for Team Sky in Giro d’Italia

Philip Deignan will be part of the Team Sky squad for this years Giro d’Italia.
The Letterkenny man’s place was confirmed this morning along with fellow Irishman Nicolas Roche.
Team Sky’s bid for the overall leaders pink jersey will be led by Mikel Landa.
The 99th edition of the Giro starts in Apeldoorn, Holland on Friday and concludes in Turin on Sunday 29 May.
The rest of the Team Sky squad is made up of with Ian Boswell,  Sebastian Henao, Christian Knees, David Lopez, Mikel Nieve and home favourite Elia Viviani joining him in the nine-man squad.
The Giro will be the ninth grand tour of Deignan’s pro career.
