The GAA’s Central Hearings Committee say that Antrim footballer Matthew Fitzpatrick has been handed a 48-week ban for giving false evidence.
The Saffrons forward was before a hearing on May 4th, one at which the CHC claim they were misled.
The hearing, and ban, all stem from an incident during Antrim’s Division 3 loss to Armagh in March.
Armagh manager Kieran McGeeney handed a 12-week ban for an altercation with a match official in the same game
Antrim are said to be exploring an appeal, and Fitzpatrick could still feature in Sunday’s Ulster quarter final with Donegal.
