Who knew he had it in him?
Kevin Spacey opened the 71st Tony Awards in New York last night with a Broadway showcase that cast aside any doubts about his hosting capability as he sang and kicked his way across the stage.
With a little help from the Rockettes, Stephen Colbert, Whoopi Goldberg and Billy Crystal, Spacey made reference to the high bar set by previous hosts like Hugh Jackman and Neil Patrick Harris as he tumbled through a musical number that riffed on ‘Groundhog Day’ and others before ending in a good old fashioned Broadway chorus line tap number.
And you know it’s good when he overshadows all the celebrity cameos.
