Councillors in South Donegal want the road from Pettigo to Laghey to be upgraded to a National Secondary Road, which would make it eligible for more funding.
The issue was raised at a meeting this week by Cllr Michael Naughton.
He secured the backing of his colleagues in the Donegal Municipal District, and says the level of traffic using that road justifies a redesignation of the road………..
