Donegal Road Safety Group PARC says thousands of drivers are still not receiving penalty points due to them because the current government is foot dragging in enforcing new legislation.
In simple terms, It is claimed that many drivers convicted of motoring offences are escaping their penalties by either not producing their license in court or by claiming they have not received a summons.
The last government changed legislation to prevent this happening but PARC claims that the current government has yet to enforce that legislation.
Spokesperson Susan Grey says they have been assured enforcement will begin in weeks, but that promise has been made before:
