Donegal County Council is being urged to include the new walking track in Churchill in its Lighting Plan.
In its response, the local authority says such routes are not funded as part of the local walks budget or the general public lighting programme but will explore all funding avenues further.
Local Cllr Michael McBride says it’s a fantastic amenity to the rural area but believes the dark evenings are acting as deterrent.
He says providing lighting would only encourage people to use it further and hopes the Council will take the action:
