CAP is ‘a total and utter fudge’ in some aspects – Flanagan

The new Common Agricultural Policy does not step up to the mark regarding climate change, according to a Midlands North West MEP.

EU agriculture ministers yesterday backed a provisional agreement that was struck on Friday.

The new CAP will start in 2023, and it will eventually involve 25% of payments being set aside for eco-schemes.

But MEP, Luke ‘Ming’ Flanagan, says the deal doesn’t do enough to tackle farming emissions:
