14 day incidence rate of Covid-19 at highest point since February

The country’s 14-day incidence rate of Covid-19 cases is now at it’s highest point since the end of February.

It now stands at 231 cases per 100,000 people, while the five-day moving average of cases has increased by more than 98 percent in a week.

The rate of infection in Donegal is more than double the national average and remains the highest in the country at 550.3 cases per 100,000 people.

The five day moving average of cases in Donegal is 82.

Last night 1,071 new infections were announced by the Department of Health.

In hospitals there are 101 patients with the virus, while there’s 20 in ICU according to latest figures.
