Finn Harps return to action on Friday night with a trip to Shamrock Rovers – and they’ll go to the Tallaght Stadium having slipped back into the bottom two in the Premier Division.
That’s because Waterford gave their survival hopes a massive boost on Monday night.
They came from behind to take a crucial three points against Bohemians
Georgie Kelly had given Bohs the lead just before half time but second half goals from John Martin and Anthony Wordsworth helped the visitors to a 2-1 win at Dalymount Park.
There was better news for Harps fans from the game at Richmond Park where Billy King’s goal helped St Pats to a 1-nil win over Dundalk.
That all means that Dundalk and Waterford lie level on 39 points, with Harps one point back on 38 – Dundalk have played a game more than their relegation rivals.
Shamrock Rovers will clinch the Premier Division title on Friday night in Dublin with victory over Harps.
