The treasurer of Monreagh National School’s Parents’ Association says Education Minister Ruari Quinn needs to consider the links between small schools and local communities.
Josephine Duncan was speaking as the 28 pupil school’s new building outside Carrigans was officially opened this afternoon by Junior Minister Dinny Mc Ginley.
The old building closed last June after over 150 years, and the new building was part funded by a major fundraising campaign which saw over €30,000 raised.
Ms Duncan says it’s something the minister cannot ignore…….
