A nationwide campaign on energy reduction is needed here according to the CEO of Eirgrid.
The Oireachtas Joint Committee on Environment and Climate Action was discussing how to lower costs and avoid blackouts this winter.
Ireland’s energy watchdog – the Commission for Regulation of Utilities – and the Environment Minister Eamon Ryan were questioned by TD’s and Senators.
Eirgrid also appeared, and CEO Mark Foley says Ireland needs to accelerate offshore wind developments.
