Taoiseach believes border poll would be defeated if held now

The Taoiseach says a border poll on a united Ireland, would be defeated, if it was held now.

Northern Ireland Office Minister, Steve Baker, sparked a debate when he said any referendum would need a ‘supermajority’.

Under the terms of the Good Friday Agreement, a vote would be passed with a 50+1 majority.

Speaking in Brussels, Leo Varadkar says now isn’t the right time for a border poll anyway:
