The Northwest region has recorded a 22% year on year increase in call outs according to pest controller ‘Rentokil’.
Donegal is among the worst affected counties in terms of the rise of rodents reported from January to October.
There was a 5% increase in callouts were recorded nationally.
They say homeowners and businesses need to be aware that rats and mice are currently exploring buildings for food and shelter, as winter temperatures continue to dip.
