Fuel was stolen from a tractor that was parked in a farmyard in the area of Kimmid, in Pettigo.
It happened between 6pm on Tuesday last and 9.30am the following morning.
Gardaí are asking residents who observed any suspicious activity or vehicles to make it known to them and for other farmers in the area to check their farmyards in case other thefts have occurred.
