Killybegs Coast Guard was involved in a seven hour rescue yesterday after a dog fell off a cliff edge.
The rescue service was tasked was tasked just after 1:05pm to Glenlough Bay.
The fear was that a person may have attempted to make their way down the cliff to rescue the animal.
The team hiked for an hour and a half to the location and set up their climbing gear.
The dog was eventually rescued and brought back to safety.
The team returned to base at 8:30pm.
The Killybegs Coast Guard has thanked farmers who assisted in transporting equipment to and from the location.
The owner of the dog has also been praised for making the correct decision in calling the Coast Guard for assistance.
