A protest is taking place this afternoon at the site of the redevelopment of Ard Scoil Mhuire in Gaoth Dobhair.
It had been indicated that the development would include a five bedroom assisted living facility for adults with intellectual disabilities, but local Cllr Michael Cholm MacGiolla Easbuig says his understanding is that element of the plan is not now progressing.
He says today’s protest will be focused on urging the developer and the council to reinstate the assisted living project..……..
The assisted living facility was first proposed by Deputy Pearse Doherty.
He says the hold up is that the approved housing body which is developing the facility has yet to make an application, and a meeting to discuss that is taking place next week…………
