Details in full –

Gardaí are investigating a theft incident that occurred at Ellistrin, Kilmacrennan between 3pm on Monday the 14th of October and 6.30pm on Sunday the 20th of October. A yard was entered and two sets of digger track pads were stolen from within. One set was 78 x 40cm and the other was 88 x 70cm. Transport such as a van or trailer would likely have been required to remove these items from the yard. We appeal to residents in that area to make contact with us if they observed any suspicious vehicles or activity in that area between those dates. Should anybody come across similar items for sale on a second hand basis, we ask them to alert Gardaí. Milford Gardaí may be contacted on 074-9153060 with any information.

Gardaí are investigating a recent report in relation to the theft of four Renault tractor front weights (36-38kg each) and six Massey Tractor weights (46kg each) from a yard in the area of Gortcally, Kerrykeel between August 20th and October 21st. In light of the last couple of incidents, we ask anybody involved in construction or farming to conduct a review of the security measures that they have in place. Ensure that tools/machinery of a high value are locked away and that there is adequate lighting in place. The use of cameras should be considered also. We also ask members of the public to always contact Gardaí immediately if they observe any type of suspicious activity or vehicles in their area. Sergeant Fergus Mc Groary who is the Divisonal Crime Prevention Officer is available to advise in relation to security measures should anybody wish to speak with him.
