An Inishowen councillor says homes provided by Donegal County Council are too reliant on electricity and back ups are desperately needed, especially when it comes to providing heat.
Cllr Paul Canning made the call at a housing meeting this week, after many homes and businesses were left without power during Storm Darragh at the weekend.
He says people were left cold because they didn’t have any solid fuel alternatives.
