Man killed in Raphoe road traffic incident named as 20-year-old Kacper Dudek

Gardai have named a young man who died after a tree fell on his car during Storm Éowyn as 20-year-old Kacper Dudek.

An investigation is continuing into the incident which happened at Raphoe yesterday morning.

The N14 remains closed and local diversions are in place while Garda Forensic Collision Investigators conduct a full examination of the scene.

A Family Liaison Officer has been assigned to provide support to his family.

The Holy Cross College have offered their thoughts and prayers to the family and friends of their past student.

“May Kacper’s gentle soul rest in peace,” the school said in a social media post.

Fr Michael McCaughey was present at the scene yesterday and says the community’s thoughts and prayers are with Kacper’s family.
