Irish peacekeepers serving in Lebanon have come under fire from Israeli forces.
It happened near the bombed-out village of Yaroun while members of the 126th Infantry Battalion were conducting a joint patrol with the Lebanese army.
The Defence Forces have confirmed the incident, stating it took place along the Blue Line, the demarcation fence that separates Lebanon and Israel.
There were no injuries.
