A 31-year-old man arrested after a police officer sustained a serious hand injury in the Galliagh Park area of Derry on Saturday has been charged to appear at Derry Magistrates Court later.
The man is charged with obstructing police, resisting police, disorderly behaviour and common assault.
Other charges include criminal damage, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, and non-fatal strangulation or asphyxiation.
