
The Irish Farmers Journal has published its annual land price report, with Donegal showing the most affordable prices in the country last year.
Nationally, prices rose by 3% to an average of just under €13,000 per acre.

However, Property Editor Paul Mooney says the best value is to be found in Donegal, Leitrim, Mayo and Sligo, where many farms were bought for less than €10,000/ac.
The current outlook for the land market in 2026 is for prices to remain steady.
