SF remains Ireland’s most popular party as May emerges as likely date for by-elections

Sinn Féin still remains the most popular party, despite a three point drop in support.

Fianna Fáil has gained two points and sits as the second most popular party at 19 per cent, according to the latest Ipsos B&A poll in the Irish Times.

Support for Fine Gael hasn’t changed much at 18 per cent.

Among the smaller parties, the Social Democrats are on seven per cent and Labour, Independent Ireland and the Green Party are tied at four per cent.

Meanwhile, the by-elections to fill President Catherine Connolly and Paschal Donohoe’s vacated Dáil seats are set to be held in May.

The Galway West and Dublin Central could see the by-elections will take place either on May 15th or 22nd, according to The Daily Mail.
