
Over 2,400 Irish citizens in the Middle East have requested chartered flights home, the government says.
Minister for International Development and the Diaspora Neale Richmond confirmed that 24,000 Irish citizens are registered as living in the Middle East, with 16,000 of them registering since Saturday.
Adults travelling on the charter flight from Oman tomorrow will be charged €800 each, while children can fly for free.
Anna Callaghan from Donegal Town was due to fly home from Dubai on Saturday when her flight, along with all others, was cancelled.
She returned home within the past 24 hours.
