
A Lifford-Stranorlar Councillor has called on the HSE to include plans for respite care within the designs for the new Lifford Community Hospital.
Cllr Gary Doherty highlighted that Donegal has just six HIQA-registered respite centres, with services often split between adults and children, with only 12 beds available every second week for children across the entire county.
He says that it is a perfect opportunity to include respite care in this new facility, which will make a difference:
