
The Taoiseach says he’d be ‘open to’ reviewing the ban on nuclear energy, but is stressing the government’s focus for alternative electricity generation is on offshore wind.
It’s after the topic was discussed at Cabinet, with Public Expenditure Minister Jack Chambers saying it should form part of our energy mix going forward.
Nuclear power has been banned here since 1999.
Taoiseach Michael Martin says changing the policy could be looked at, but he has other priorities…………….
