A Donegal Senator has called for greater State support for kinship care arrangements.
Eileen Flynn says more emphasis should be placed on services that allow children to be placed with relatives if their parents die, helping them remain in familiar surroundings.
She says organisations supporting kinship care should be prioritised, and has called for the issue to be debated in the Seanad:
