An assessment is underway into potential suicide prevention measures on the Foyle Bridge.
Foyle MLA Mark H Durkan has called for higher parapet railings to be installed.
The Department for Infrastructure says the review will take a number of months due to the bridge’s complexity.
Mr Durkan says the measures must be part of wider improvements in mental health services, including faster access to crisis support and early intervention.
