
New figures regarding housing in Donegal have been revealed in the latest GeoDirectory report.
The report gives analysis of housing activity, vacancy, dereliction and property prices across the country.
It shows there were 1,051 residential buildings under construction in Donegal during June, while 988 new residential addresses were added to the GeoDirectory database in the year to the end of the month.
Despite that, Donegal recorded the fourth highest residential vacancy rate in the State at 8.9%, more than double the national average of 3.7%.
The report also found that the average house price in Donegal over the 12 months to May was €229,640, making it the second lowest in the country after Longford and well below the national average of €437,631.
