Former Mayor of Derry and Strabane Brian Tierney has announced he will not contest next year’s local government election.
The SDLP Group Leader says he will stand down as a councillor early next year due to personal and professional commitments.
Cllr Tierney was first elected in 2013 and has represented the Ballyarnett area for almost 14 years.
He also served as Mayor of Derry and Strabane District Council.
