Housing commencements in Donegal fell in September compared to the same month last year.
The number dropped from 147 in September 2025 to 113 last month according to figures published by the Department of Housing.
However, the figures show an overall increase for the year so far, with 744 homes commenced in Donegal during the first nine months of 2026 — an 18 per cent rise on the same period last year.
Nationally, 26,536 new homes were commenced during the first three quarters of 2026.
