Gardai are following a number of lines of enquiry into yesterday’s bomb attack in Letterkenny.
A sophistivated device detonated under a jeep in Manor View Park in Long Lane at around 4 am.
Nobody was injured but extensive damage was caused to the vehicle.
Gardai are appealing to anyone that noticed a silver saloon-type car in the area immediately after the incident to contact them.
And yesterday, Inspector Gretti Sheridan made this appeal:
Evacuated residents were allowed back into their homes on Friday evening after army bomb disposal experts cleared the area.
Shrapnel and other material was taken away for further examination.
One local lady said her two young children have been left terrified by the experience:
