A Donegal County Cllr has said that more contracts should be tendered to small, local companies for road resurfacing works in the county.
Currently the council has to abide by the requirements of EU directives when procuring works, goods and services.
Cllr Martin Harley says the current EU Directive guidelines are currently at level that discourages smaller contractors.
He says the Department of Transport need to look to change this, so that more jobs can be created locally:
