Cllr Peter Mc Laughlin added to the FG ticket in Inishowen

Fine Gael has added Buncrana Mayor Cllr Peter Mc Laughlin to the ticket in Inishowen for the forthcoming local elections.
Cllr Mc Laughlin left a selection convention earlier this month claiming he had been shafted, after it emerged that approaches had been made to Independent Buncrana Cllr Nicholas Crossan to run on behalf of the party, even thought Cllr Mc Laughlin had made it known he wanted to run for a county council seat.
The convention unanimously ratified the candidacy of the three sitting councillors in the area, Mickey Doherty, Bernard Mc Guinness and John Ryan. Cllr Mc Laughlin had withdrawn from the race after it became clear that only three candidates would be nominated at convention, with the possiblity of further additions in the future.
