Mark English is the toast of Irish sport today after his bronze medal winning performance in the 800m final at the European Athletics in Zurich.
The last 100m was special for the Letterkenny man as he powered down the finishing straight to score Ireland’s first medal at the Europeans in four years.
English becomes Ireland seventh ever medallist at these championships joining Irish greats such as Sonia O’Sullivan and Eamonn Coghlan.
