A sample of water from the Churchill/Glenswilly area has failed on four counts following independent testing.
The water was 20% above European safe limits for NCTA (a herbicide commonly used to spray on rushes), 60% above permitted levels for pesticides, and 29% above permitted levels for iron content.
The water also failed for its colour.
Around 100 concerned local people attended a meeting last night, where the findings were disclosed.
