Donegal County Council has backed a motion calling for the HSE to take over Aras Gweedore Nursing Home.
There are concerns over the future of the nursing home which is reportedly losing up to €80,000 per year.
It was reported in October that 50 staff members were asked by management to take a five per cent pay cut.
Raising the issue in the council chamber, Councillor Michael Mac Giolla Easpaig said the best outcome would be for the HSE to take over the running of the facility:
