Hundreds of teachers are on strike across Co Donegal today over a dispute over Junior Cycle reform.
It’s the second day of strike action in six weeks over plans to make teachers assess 40 per cent of the work of their own students.
Talks between the ASTI, TUI and the Education Minister failed to end the dispute – while an eleventh hour plea from the Taoiseach was also unsuccessful.
800 Donegal post-primary teachers are taking part in the strike today – while dozens from the four secondary schools in Letterkenny are taking part, Barry Whyte spoke to these teachers on the picket lines:
