Ardara family left homeless after housefire

A family in Ardara have been left without a home this evening after their house was gutted in a fire.
A fire broke out in the kitchen area of the family home in the Glengesh area just outside Ardara.
Two fire units from Glenties and Killybegs were quickly on the scene, while an ambulance was also at the scene.
The occupants, understood to be the father and his son, escaped from the house uninjured, but they were taken to hospital as they did suffer from smoke inhalation.
Fire brigade personnel used breathing apparatus at the scene, despite their best efforts the house was left gutted by the fire.
The family are said to have be left devastated.
Gardai had to close the Common Bridge to Meenanary Road during the blaze, but that has since reopened.
