A Donegal TD says it’s time to stop using schools as polling stations. Deputy Charlie Mc Conalogue, who is Fianna Fáil Spokesperson on Education says the Government should explore alternative options instrad of closing schools for a day.
Deputy Mc Conalogue He says the practice of using schools as polling stations was acceptable when there were no other suitable venues available, but now there there are sports centres and community halls in almost every community across the country.
He says such venues would provide an ideal alternative, and he wants the government to take a lead on this issue…………..
