Beyoncé made history with her Saturday night set at Coachella in California as the first black woman to headline the music and arts festival.
The hitmaker kicked off her highly-anticipated set with her 2003 smash hit Crazy In Love, before going on to perform some of the best tracks from her back catalogue including Formation, Drunk In Love, and Baby Boy.
The singing superstar referenced the history-making nature of her performance later in her set by saying: “Coachella, thank you for allowing me to be the first black woman to headline,” before breaking into a rendition of Run the World (Girls).
She shared the stage with over 100 dancers and a brass marching band for the expertly choreographed set.
Her headlining act also saw Destiny’s Child reunite for a special performance on the girl group’s 20th anniversary. The last time the band performed together was at the 2013 Super Bowl halftime show.
Beyoncé introduced Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams by saying: “My sisters! Please give it up for Kelly and Michelle. I love y’all.”
The trio put in a rousing performance of their late 90s and early 2000s R&B classics Say My Name, Soldier and Lose My Breath.

After they left the stage, Beyoncé’s sister Solange Knowles then made an appearance to dance along to Get Me Bodied. The performance had echoes of Solange’s 2014 Coachella set when Beyoncé made a surprise appearance for Losing You.
In honor of Coachella being this weekend, let’s remember when Beyoncé surprised Solange on stage. I love their relationship.
Beyoncé’s husband, rapper Jay Z, also made a cameo for a rendition of their 2006 single Deja Vu during her almost two hour set.
Beyoncé was scheduled to headline Coachella last year but had to cancel under doctor’s orders because she was pregnant with twins at the time. Lady Gaga stepped in as her replacement.
She and Jay Z welcomed twins Rumi and Sir Carter last June.
