49 Donegal pubs close in just three years

Figures obtained by Fine Gael show that in the course of just three years almost 50 pubs have closed in Donegal while on avarage nationally a pub has closed a day.
In raising the issue Fine Gael Deputy John O’Mahoney is now calling for initiatives to be considered, including VRT exemptions if pubs invest in minibuses or transport for their customers.
He says the figures prove the rural pub is in trouble:
