IFA chair welcomes Minister’s intervention on potato crisis

The Chairman of the IFA in Donegal is welcoming a commitment from Agriculture Minister Brendan Smith to assess the extent to which the recent weather conditions impacted on potato growers.
At a meeting with the new IFA president, the minister said his officials would liaise directly with individual farmers and bring a report back to him. However, he made no commitments regarding possible compensation packages.
