More wind farms could be on the way in scenic areas

Some of Donegal’s most scenic areas could be the home of wind farms if proposals to make Donegal the wind energy capital of Ireland come to pass.
Donegal County Council has heard two motions calling for the county development plan to be changed to allow wind farm development on land designated as being a especially high scenic amenity.
Councillor’s Charlie McConologue and Padraig McLoughlainn had similar motions down on the issue
The latter says local objections to wind farms may be eased if the local community is seeing the financial benefits:
