Calls for better communication between the OPW and gardai

It is claimed there is a breakdown in communication between the Gardai and the Office of Public Works in relation to the provision of a new garda station in Carndonagh.
From today gardai will operate from the County Council’s Public Services Centre in the town between 10am and 3pm Monday to Friday.
This is to facilitate the refurbishment of the town’s garda station at a cost of 175 thousand euro.
Senator Cecilia Keaveney says that money is being wasted and would have been better spent on a new station – however she says it is not clear if the OPW or the Gardai made the decision:
