Donegal Councillor Jimmy Harte has confirmed he’s joining the Labour Party today.
He is in Dublin for a meeting with party leader Eamon Gilmore this morning, at which he’ll sign the necessary documentation to join the party.
He’ll then be unveiled by Mr Gilmore as the latest in a number of high profile figures to join the party in recent weeks.
Cllr Harte will become the third Labour member of Donegal County Council.
He says with a General Election two years away, it’s a move that makes sense:
