Three in court over Foyle Bridge heroin seizure

A Derry man  will go on trial next month charged n connection with the seizure of more two million pounds worth of heroin on the Foyle Bridge in Derry last July.
He stands accused along with a man and woman with addresses in Dublin.
At Derry Crown Court today 42 year-old Sean Doherty  of Cornshell Fields in Derry, Sarah Greene who is 24 and of Eaton Green and 28 year-old Anthony Morgan also of Eaton Green in Dublin pleaded not guilty.
Doherty was charged with possessing Class A drugs with intent to supply and the other two were charged with being concerned in the supply of drugs.
The court heard that it was a ‘farirly substantial amount’ of drugs and that their trial is expected to last up to two weeks.
Greene was released on continuing bail while Doherty and Morgan were remanded in custody until June 9.
