Donegal members commemorated in national Garda memorial

Two gardai who died in seperate incidents in Donegal last year will be honoured at the opening of a memorial garden today.
Robbie Mc Callion and Gary Mc Laughlin were the latest of 83 gardai who have died in the line of duty.
Also included is Donegal Sergeant Paul Reid, who died on UN secondment in Sarajevo in 1995.
Also included in the roll of honour are Garda Michael Joseph Lawless who was killed in a road collision Sligo in January 1993 while he was based in Bundoran.
Detective Thomas Lawn from Ballyshannon was killed in a road collision in Dublin in 1983.
Detective Garda Patrick Mc Geehan from Fintown, was shot in 1932 while protecting Leitrim TD Patrick Reynolds, and Garda John O’Donnell from Burtonport, drowned in 1940 after rescuing two girls from the sea in Ballybunion Co Kerry.
