Athletics – Smyth’s Double Win In Manchester

Derry sprinter Jason Smyth clinched a double win at the Paralympic World Cup meeting in Manchester on Tuesday. The Eglinton man won the 100metres in 10.66 seconds and also took victory in the 200m with a 22.07 time. The visually-impaired Derry man has been training in Florida USA for the last five months alongside American sprinting star Tyson Gay. The 22-year-old is making an impact in able-bodied athletics and he has already qualified for this year’s European Championships in Barcelona
